Panel calls for screening for patients with Fanconi anemia

References

Endocrine problems are common in patients with Fanconi anemia (FA), and a panel of experts has published recommendations that individuals with FA should be routinely screened for endocrine abnormalities. The panel has also recommended that an endocrinologist should be included on the care team for FA patients. About 80% of children and adults with FA have at least one endocrine abnormality, including short stature, GH deficiency, abnormal glucose or insulin metabolism, dyslipidemia, hypothyroidism, pubertal delay, hypogonadism, or impaired fertility. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25575015?dopt=Abstract
