Comparing Transurethral Alprostadil with Intracavernosal Injections in a VA Impotence Clinic

Dr. Zaslau is an associate professor and director of the urology residency program and Dr. Saunders is a junior resident, both in the division of urology at West Virginia University (WVU), Morgantown, WV. Dr. Galea is a clinical instructor and Dr. Vapnek is a clinical associate professor, both in the urology section at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center, Bronx, NY. Mr. Riggs is a research associate, Ms. Jackson is research assistant, and Dr. Kandzari is a professor and division chief, all in the division of urology at WVU.
Despite offering the advantage of needle free medication delivery, transurethral treatment produced disappointing results in these veterans with erectile dysfunction.
