Know Your Prostate

The prostate is a small gland in men—about the size and shape of a walnut—that sits below the bladder and just in front of the rectum. The prostate gland, part of the male reproductive system, helps make semen. Common prostate problems include inflammation (prostatitis), enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia [beh-nine pro-stat-ik hy-per-play-zhah]) (BPH), and prostate cancer. One change does not lead to another, and it is possible to have more than 1 condition at the same time.
