COVID-19 vaccines: The rollout, the risks, and the reason to still wear a mask

Author and Disclosure Information

This month, Dr. Campos-Outcalt provides practical insights on the rollout of the 2 coronavirus 2019 vaccines that have been approved for emergency use in the United States. He describes who qualifies for each phase of the rollout, the mild-to-moderate adverse reactions that can be expected, the medications that should be on hand in the event of a serious adverse reaction, and the reason why masks are still important—even after vaccination.
