FDA panels revisit rosiglitazone's cardiovascular safety

The majority of two FDA advisory panels voted to modify or remove the prescribing restrictions on the type 2 diabetes drug rosiglitazone, based on the readjudicated results of a cardiovascular outcomes study, the Rosiglitazone Evaluated for Cardiovascular Outcomes and Regulation of Glycemia in Diabetes (RECORD) trial.
