The American Diabetes Association is planning to fund up to 100 scientists in the next decade, through a new grant program called Pathway to Stop Diabetes. Each award is for 5 to 7 years, and is up to $1.625 million for diabetes-related research.
The program is launched with more than $27 million in gifts from individuals and corporations, including Sanofi, Novo Nordisk Inc., and the Eli Lilly and Company Foundation.
In a video interview with Clinical Endocrinology News, Dr. Robert E. Ratner, ADA's chief scientific and medical officer, provides further detail of the grant program.
