Survival after kidney transplantation lags in diabetes patients
Key clinical point: Survival following a kidney transplant did not improve as much during 2000-2018 for U.S. patients with diabetes as it did for normoglycemic patients.
Major finding: Adjusted, posttransplant mortality was 94% higher among type 1 diabetes patients and 64% higher in type 2 diabetes patients, compared with patients without diabetes.
