The ongoing Established Status Epilepticus Treatment Trial will provide further data to inform treatment. The investigators are comparing phenytoin, valproic acid, and levetiracetam in a controlled study. The results could support Rossetti’s finding that valproic acid is preferable to the other therapies, said Dr. Riviello.
