Does maternal sleep position affect risk of stillbirth?

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR PRACTICE?

Encourage pregnant patients to not go to sleep in the supine position, especially those who:

  • are obese
  • have medical complications of pregnancy
  • have a history of prior stillbirth
  • smoke
  • are of advanced maternal age
