AMA Opens ePrescribing Center

Report Issued on Pain Drug Misuse

The proportion of adults aged 18-25 years who currently use pain relievers for nonmedical reasons rose from 4.1% in 2002 to 4.6% in 2007, but such use declined among teens aged 12-17, from 3.2% to 2.7%, according to a report from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
