Exercise Plus Virtual Reality Improves Cognition; Metabolic Syndrome Starts Early; Enteral Feeding in Acute Lung Injury

Looking for a fun way to give your older patients a cognitive and physical workout? Get them into gaming—as in “exergaming.” In a study of older adults, exercise, and cognitive decline, those who used a “cybercycle” had better cognitive function than did traditional exercisers, say researchers from Union College, Schenectady, New York; Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, New York; Columbia University, New York City; Albany Medical Center, Albany, New York; and the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
