Treatment of Hidradenitis Suppurativa: What's New?

Treatment of hidradenitis suppurativa, a chronic, relapsing disease that primarily affects the apocrine sweat gland–bearing skin, remains a challenge for even the most experienced dermatologists. While multiple treatments have been proposed for this disease, its recalcitrant nature makes it difficult to control. Currently, no single therapy has emerged as universally effective. In this article, we review the most recent literature regarding treatments for this disease and also provide recommendations for their use.
