Leslie S. Baumann, MD, is a private practice dermatologist, researcher, author, and entrepreneur who practices in Miami. She founded the Cosmetic Dermatology Center at the University of Miami in 1997. Dr. Baumann has written two textbooks: “Cosmetic Dermatology: Principles and Practice” (New York: McGraw-Hill, 2002) and “Cosmeceuticals and Cosmetic Ingredients,” (New York: McGraw-Hill, 2014), as well as a New York Times Best Sellers book for consumers, “The Skin Type Solution” (New York: Bantam Dell, 2006). She is the founder and CEO of Skin Type Solutions Franchise Systems LLC. |

David Ciocon. MD, is director of dermatologic surgery and cosmetic dermatology, and director of clinical operations in the division of dermatology at the Montefiore Medical Center, N.Y. He is also program director of an ACGME-approved fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology, and assistant professor of medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, N.Y. In addition to general and cosmetic dermatology, his clinical interests include Mohs micrographic surgery, facial reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, and laser medicine. He joined the Dermatology News editorial advisory board in 2016. |

Adam Friedman, MD, an associate professor of dermatology and serves as residency program director, director of translational research, and director of the supportive oncodermatology program in the department of dermatology at the George Washington University, Washington. Dr. Friedman is currently investigating novel nanotechnologies that allow for controlled and sustained delivery of a wide spectrum of physiologically and medicinally relevant molecules, with an emphasis on treating infectious diseases, accelerating wound healing, immune modulation, and correcting vascular dysfunction. He holds multiple patents derived from these investigations and has published more than 150 papers/chapters and two textbooks on his research as well as a variety of clinical areas in dermatology, with an emphasis on emerging medical therapies. In line with his clinical and research interests, he serves as vice president of the Nanodermatology Society, vice chair of the dermatology section of the New York Academy of Medicine, as well as a fellow ambassador. He has received multiple awards, including the American Dermatologic Association Young Leader Award, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Cutting Edge Research award, the 2017 Elle Beauty Genius Award, the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology Leader in Photoprotection award, and the La Roche Posay North American Foundation Research award. Dr. Friedman is also committed to resident and medical education. He currently serves as the deputy chair of the AAD Poster Task Force, is the senior editor of the Dermatology In-Review online workshop, Krazy Kodachromes, and is director of the Oakstone Institute’s Dermatology Board Review, and Dermatology for Primary Care series. |

Kalyani Marathe, MD, is a pediatric dermatologist at Children’s National Health System, and assistant professor of dermatology and pediatrics at the George Washington University, both in Washington. At Children’s, she also is director of outpatient services in the division of dermatology, the medical director of informatics for outpatient services, and participates in two multidisciplinary clinics: a vulvar diseases clinic with the department of pediatric gynecology and a connective tissue disease clinic with the department of pediatric rheumatology. Her interests include pediatric vulvar diseases; acne; genetic skin disorders, including epidermolysis bullosa; pigmented lesions; wound care; vascular birthmarks; and laser therapy. She joined the Dermatology News editorial advisory board in 2016. |
