Pediatric Abdominal Trauma: Making a Difficult Diagnosis

The presentation of children with abdominal trauma varies widely, and initial exam findings do not always provide the information needed to make an accurate diagnosis. This article considers diagnostic and management strategies and provides a useful review of several types of abdominal trauma. In addition, algorithmic approaches to diagnosis and treatment are offered.
