Dual E-Cigarette and Combustible Tobacco Use Compound Respiratory Disease Risk
Key clinical point: Former and current use of e-cigarettes was independently associated with an increased risk of developing respiratory disease.
Major finding: Former e-cigarette use (adjusted odds ratio, 1.34; 95% confidence interval, 1.23-1.46) and current e-cigarette use (aOR, 1.32; 95% CI, 1.17-1.49) was associated with an increased risk of having incident respiratory disease.
Study details: An analysis of 32,320 adults in the nationally representative, population-based, longitudinal Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health study between September 2013 and October 2016.
