Best Practices Lower Postsepsis Risk, but Only if Implemented

Key clinical point: Best practices in postsepsis care may lower mortality and readmission after hospitalization.

Major finding: Patients who received at least two of four types of recommended postsepsis care were less likely to die or be readmitted within 80 days than those who received zero or one.

Study details: A retrospective study of 100 patients treated for sepsis in 2017 at eight acute care hospitals in North Carolina.
