Ehlers-Danlos syndrome: Increased IUGR risk reported

Key clinical point: Odds of antepartum hemorrhage, placenta previa, cervical incompetence, preterm birth, and IUGR were higher for pregnant women with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.

Major finding: Adjusted odds ratio for incompetent cervix was 3.2 for women with EDS.

Study details: Analysis of national inpatient data over 14-year period, examining 910 deliveries to women with EDS out of 13,881,592 overall deliveries.
