Sunscreen Agents

Author and Disclosure Information

As part of our commitment to resident education, Cutis is excited to offer this monthly section with board-relevant, easy-to-review material.

Sunscreens come in a variety of topical forms and are designed to absorb or reflect some of the UV radiation from the sun, thus protecting the skin from sun damage. Sunscreens are classified into physical and chemical, with some products containing both types of agents.
