Dr. Yawn was previously in a rural family medicine practice in Worthington, Minn. for 14 years and subsequently served as the director of research, Olmsted Medical Center, Rochester, Minn., for 22 years. She is presently a research consultant for several large studies that are looking at improving asthma and COPD care in primary care practices.

Dr. Yawn discloses that she has served as a consultant for GSK, TEVA Pharmaceutical Industries, and ThermoFisher Scientific.
