Antihistamines synergistically induce CLL cell death with TK inhibitors
Key clinical point: Clemastine was the most effective at inducing chronic lymphocytic leukemia cell death.
Major finding: Antihistamines induced synergistic cytotoxicity with the tyrosine kinase inhibitor, ibrutinib, but not with chemotherapy.
Study details: Blood from chronic lymphocytic leukemia patients and age-matched healthy donors was collected, treated, and compared with two malignant B-cell lines.
