Melanoma Incidence Drops in Younger Age Groups
Key clinical point: The drop in the invasive melanoma incidence decreased in adolescents and young adults, but incidence increased among older adults between 2006 and 2015.
Major finding: The annual percentage change in melanoma incidence between 2006 and 2015 dropped by 4.4% for male adolescents, 5.4% for female adolescents, 3.7% for male young adults, and 3.6% for female young adults.
Study details: The data come from a population-based analysis of 988,103 cases of invasive melanoma in the United States between 2001 and 2015.
