Dose-Reduced Consolidation Radiotherapy Shows Benefit

Key clinical point: Reducing the dose of consolidation radiation therapy (RT) from 30 Gy to 20 Gy may be beneficial in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).

Major finding: At 5-years, freedom from local recurrence using 20 Gy was 98%, while overall and progression-free survival were 90% and 83%, respectively.

Study details: A phase 2 study of 62 patients with DLBCL not otherwise specified or primary mediastinal B-cell lymphoma.

Disclosures: The study was funded by the Department of Radiation Oncology at Duke University Medical Center. The authors reported no conflicts of interest.
