INR fails to predict bleeding in patients with cirrhosis

Key clinical point: International normalized ratio (INR) does not predict periprocedural bleeding in patients with cirrhosis.

Major finding: Preprocedural INR was not significantly associated with periprocedural bleeding events (pooled odds ratio, 1.52; 95% confidence 0.99-2.33; P = .06).

Study details: A systemic review and meta-analysis involving 13,276 patients with cirrhosis.
