Minority-serving hospitals had similar survival after liver cancer surgery
Key clinical point: Treatment at a minority-serving hospital was not associated with higher risk of death among patients undergoing surgery for hepatocellular carcinoma.
Major finding: The multivariable hazard ratio for death was 0.89 (95% confidence interval, 0.72-1.11).
Study details: Analysis of National Cancer Database for 2004-2014. All patients who underwent surgical resection for hepatocellular carcinoma were included.
