Study questions preemptive TEVAR for extended type A dissections

Key clinical point: Few extended type A aortic dissections required intervention after initial ascending aorta repair.

Major finding: At 28 months, 88% of ExTA patients did not require intervention vs. 35% of type B patients at 9 months.
