Systematic Review Indicates Cutaneous Laser Therapy May Be Safe During Pregnancy
Key clinical point: Low-level evidence indicates that cutaneous laser therapy is safe during pregnancy.
Major finding: Among 380 treated patients, the only clinically significant treatment-emergent adverse event was premature rupture of the membranes occurring 4 days after the patient received CO2 laser therapy. She had a normal delivery approximately 1 week later.
Study details: A systematic review of 22 studies published from 1994 to 2015.
