HEAD-US System Shows Promise for Assessing Joint Bleeding

Key clinical point: A prospective study confirmed the applicability of the HEAD‐US sonographic scoring system to evaluate joint status in patients with hemophilia treated with late prophylaxis.

Major finding: There was a strong correlation between the assessed joint bleeding rates for 3 years and the corresponding HEAD-US scores in ankles and knees (P less than .001 for both).
