ED-based HCV screening found feasible, linkage low

Key clinical point: ED-based hepatitis C virus screening is a feasible method of detecting disease in high-risk populations, but linkage to care remains low.

Major finding: Linkage to care was achieved in 59% of nonhomeless patients, compared with 20% of homeless patients (P = .02).

Study details: An observational study involving 4,182 patients treated at three EDs in Seattle.

Disclosures: The study was funded by Gilead. The investigators disclosed additional relationships with HighTide Therapeutics, Intercept, AbbVie, and others.
