Baseline Subtypes Predict Dementia and Death in Patients With Parkinson’s Disease

Key clinical point: There are subtypes in Parkinson’s disease, and they predict dementia and death.

Major finding: Both dementia and death were about four times more likely after 11 years in patients with Parkinson’s disease and cognitive or psychiatric symptoms at baseline, versus those with motor symptoms alone.
