Do chocolate lovers have healthier arteries?

Key clinical point: Chocolate consumption at least weekly was significantly linked with a reduced risk of coronary artery disease.

Major finding: Over an average follow-up of 9 years, eating chocolate at least once a week was significantly associated with a reduced risk of coronary artery disease, compared with eating no chocolate or chocolate less than once a week (pooled risk ratio. 0.94; P < .001)

Study details: The data come from a meta-analysis of six studies and a total of 336,289 individuals.
