Age leads COVID-19 hospitalization risk factors in RMDs

Key clinical point: Age greater than 65 years, cardiovascular disease, and glucocorticoid use increased the risk of hospitalization for COVID-19 in patients with inflammatory rheumatic diseases (IRDs).

Major finding: Odds ratios for hospitalization were a respective 5.1, 2.59, and 2.27 for age, cardiovascular disease, and glucocorticoid use.

Study details: A total of 192 patients enrolled in ReCoVery, the German national COVID-19 registry.
