Early hearing impairment interventions key to kindergarten readiness

Key clinical point: Enrollment in early intervention before 6 months may have influence on kindergarten readiness for infants who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Major finding: Language and literacy is on track in 60% of “early” (prior to 6 months) intervention cases.

Study details: Comprehensive longitudinal population-based study of 1,746 deaf or hard-of-hearing infants.
