Depressive Symptoms Linked to Poor Diet Quality in Men
Key clinical point: Current and past depressive symptoms were linked to poor diet quality in Dutch men.
Major finding: A Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression (CES-D) score of at least 16 in both 2011-2013 and 2015-2016 were associated with a lower Mediterranean Diet Score and Alternative Healthy Eating Index measure in men, compared with men with CES-D scores less than 16.
Study details: A study of 1,312 participants aged 55 years or older from the Longitudinal Aging Study Amsterdam (LASA).
