One in five gestational carriers do not meet ASRM criteria

Key clinical point: Deviating from body mass index or age recommendations for gestational carriers may be associated with increased likelihood of spontaneous abortion.

Major finding: An analysis of associations between individual recommendations and poor pregnancy outcomes found that body mass index greater than 35 was associated with increased likelihood of spontaneous abortion (odds ratio, 4.29), as was age less than 21 years or greater than 45 years (OR, 3.37).

Study details: A retrospective study of data from 194 gestational carriers at one center.
