Key clinical point: Concomitant pubovaginal sling improved stress incontinence in women undergoing urethral diverticulectomy, but was also associated with higher risk of recurrent UTIs and urinary retention.

Major finding: Women who had a pubovaginal sling placed at the time of urethral diverticulectomy saw less stress urinary incontinence, compared with diverticulectomy alone (adjusted odds ratio, 2.27; 95% confidence interval, 1.02-5.03; P = .043).
